Last Friday night I came home to a nice surprise. One of our darling dogs decided to pee on our new couch. I don’t know who it is, but I’m assuming Jax is the guilty party because he’s on a steroids which can have that affect on him. It completely ruined my night, how could it not? The most horrible part about it is that it probably happened while hubs was getting ready for work, so it had definitely had some time to soak in. Gross, I know. FYI– We don’t leave the pups out during the day (kitchen with gate), but we do let them out while were home. They are 9 and 5, by no means puppies that tend to have this problem. That night I tried everything I could think of to get it out. I researched, bought 3 different cleaners, you name it. Then I cried and cried. It’s Christmas, who wants to spend $1,000 on a new couch on top of all the expenses that come with the holiday season? Who wants their house to have this stench that won’t go away? I hoped that one of the cleaning solutions would work, but I didn’t have much confidence in them. It’s now been 5 days since the accident. The smell has improved but not good enough. I’m still spraying the crap out of the couch thinking that the more I spray the mort it will get rid of the smell. But, I don’t think it’s going to get better. So tonight (after more frustration, stress, and a few tears) I went online to see what kind of damage we were looking at for a new sofa. And, just my luck- it’s no longer carried by Rooms to Go. Freaking awesome. Go figure. The problem is that our sofa is a 5 pc set with a chair and ottoman. I want to keep those pieces that weren’t damaged- I definitely don’t want to add more $$$ for those items. So, tomorrow I will spend the day on the phone with Rooms to Go pleading to try and figure something out. At this point we will take a slightly damaged piece if we can keep the same couch. Definitely not how I wanted to spend my day before Christmas eve. Looks like we may be doing some after Christmas sofa shopping. NO fun!
*UPDATE* We were able to find our couch at a Rooms to Go discount store. It was the LAST one in Florida. But, it will be delivered on Tuesday and it was under a thousand bucks. So, I’m one happy camper right now. Not too happy due to the fact that we had to buy another sectional 6 months after we just bought one but happy in the fact that we don’t have to go find a new living room set.0 Did you like this post?
