I’ve done so many things off my 101 in 1001 list, but I’ve been horrible about updating the blog with my progress.
In October, I found a fabulous deal on a flight up to Indiana to visit The Wardlaws. I met Brittney about 4 years ago at work. We became really close and she even lived with me when her husband was transfered back to Indiana for a few months. We remained close and have been really good about keeping in touch. We may be many many miles apart, but we don’t miss a beat in each others lives. Brittney is one of the most supportive and best friend I have. This was my second trip up since her daughter, Kaidyn was born (she’s now 2). Thankfully, they were able to come down a few times over the past few years so we were able to see each other. The weekend was absolutely perfect. I just love spending time with her and her husband, Bill. They are like family to me and so easy and fun to be around. On Friday we went to dinner and then back to their house to relax. It was so flipping cold outside. All I wanted, was to be was under a pile of blankets! My favorite part of the night was reading K The Polar Express before bed. She is the cutest 2 year old I’ve ever been around. She completely melted my heart over and over again. I’ll never get tired of hearing “Mommy, where’s E-ah”, which she said all weekend. On Saturday, I woke up to over an inch of snow!! I was over the moon t
hat I was able to cross another thing off my 101 list. I haven’t seen snow in about 10 years! Of course, Bill and I threw a snow ball or two at each other. We enjoyed the day doing lots of Christmas stuff, watching a little football and visiting a candy factory. But, the highlight of Saturday was going to Hobby Lobby for the first time. I was in heaven. I ran up and down the aisles, grabbing idea packets and ribbon. Brittney got a kick out of this and I think we ended up being there for over an hour. Luckily, I found a Hobby Lobby about an hour away from home, I’m planning on taking weekly trips. It was a fabulous day. On Sunday, we ate breakfast together then Brittney and I went shopping-it’s what we do best! I flew out on Sunday evening and made it home safe and sound around 10pm. I wish we were closer and could have weekends like that all the time! I couldn’t think of a better way to start of December and can’t wait to see the Wardlaws again in March.
