It’s been a fun two weeks with Neely and Amber’s blog challenge. Today is the final day. The topic…
When we moved to FL from CT in 92 we didn’t have any family down here. The only people we knew were my parents best friends. We actually moved down after visiting them once and moved one street away. The eight of us ended up spending every holiday and special occasion together for the next 10+ years. A year after we moved down we started a Thanksgiving tradition. Since neither of us had family here, we decided to take a vacation every Thanksgiving. We’d go for a long weekend, usually somewhere in FL. We did this until us kids started to graduate. So, in my teen years we only cooked Thanksgiving dinner once or twice. These days, we enjoy Thanksgiving at my parents house. It’s usually just 6-8 of us. We cook way too much food, watch football, take naps and play cards. My birthday and my dads birthday are right around Thanksgiving, so there is usually some birthday cake thrown in the mix too!
