When I did my ask me anything post a few weeks ago, Caroline asked about the pups. I looked back through my posts and realized I’ve never “officially” introduced the pups to you all. I’ve talked about them a lot, but most of that was talking about the health issues Jax was having. So, today I’m going to introduce you to the littlest loves of my life.
Meet Jaxin aka Jax
Jax is my baby. I got him when I was a freshman in college. My parents never let us have a dog and I always wanted one. So, as soon as I moved out- I got a dog. I spent a lot of time researching breeds and decided on a Boston Terrier because I they’re stubborn and sweet , just like me. And stubborn and sweet is exactly what I got. Jax is an unbelievably hyper pup. I thought and hoped that with age, he would calm down but that did not happen. He’s been through everything with me over the past 10 years. The good, the bad and the ugly. He knows when something is wrong and can snuggle all day until it’s right. He loves to give kisses and hugs, sometimes too much. When we walk through the door he acts like he hasn’t seen us in years, even if we were only gone a few minutes. He tries to sneak in the bed when we’re getting ready in the hopes that we will let him stay. He’s so smart and definitely runs this house. He has his dad wrapped around his finger and doesn’t stay in trouble for more than 5 minutes because of his puppy dog face. Over the past two years he’s had a lot of health issues. It’s so hard to accept the fact that he’s getting older. I can’t imagine life without him.
First off, let me explain her name. She is not named after a snake. She’s named after the Red Sox, also known as the Bo Sox. If she was a boy, she would have been Bo. But she wasn’t, so we added an A onto it and it became Boa. My brother got her when we lived together during my senior year in college. We lived together for the year and then my brother moved to go to FSU. He took her with him. But, I didn’t trust him and his friends to take care of a puppy. I had nightmares of them leaving the door open at their apartment and her running away. Plus, Jax really missed her. So, I kind of took her from him. I know it sounds so mean, but it was the best for her and then he didn’t have to worry about a dog. I still have to buy him a dog one day to make up for it. Anyhow, it worked out. The dogs couldn’t be any more different but they LOVE each other. Boa is not the brightest crayon in the box. We spend a lot of time laughing at the random things she does, like running into the walls. She follows Jax around all day and doesn’t quite know what is going on half the time. If Jax barks, she barks. If Jax goes to bed, she follows. But what she lacks in smarts, she makes up for in sweetness. She is a snuggle bug and wants to be near you at all times. We love her to pieces.
They are definitely our children and we could not imagine life without them!0 Did you like this post?
