Hubs is off work today and we’re taking AG to see santa. To say I’m looking forward to it would be an understatement. I have high hopes for her first santa picture. We’re also finishing up our Christmas shopping and going to look at Christmas lights. I live for days like this.
I’m pretty proud of my meal planning this week. We only spend $75 at the grocery store last week and I was able to cook dinner every night. We had pot roast, chili, pork loin, soup and leftovers. It was all delish and every meal gave leftovers for lunch.
The high today is in the 60’s and the low is in the 30’s. Too bad it will be back up to 80 on Christmas. I’m ready for fuzzy, cozy blankets and hot chocolate nights.
I’m almost done with my Christmas baking for the season. This week I finished up all the goodies for D’s work. I made another 8 dozen cookies (peanut butter blossoms, white chocolate gingerbread, cranberry chocolate oatmeal spice, and Reese’s brownies). Now all I have left is the gifts for our neighbors. I’m thinking of Egg Nog Pound Cake for them.
Yesterday, I received my dairy free chai along with the gingerbread syrup I ordered in the mail. It made my day. I’ll finally be able to enjoy delicious coffee again. AND…I found dairy free hot chocolate at Target this week.
Speaking of dairy free, the diet isn’t that bad. I was really bummed the first two weeks. It seemed that everything I looked at and wanted had some sort of dairy in it. But, after some research and a trip to whole foods, I’ve found things to eat. I’ll be dedicating a post to dairy free eating soon.
Even though I want these last days of 2012 to go by at turtle speed, I’m looking forward to the new year. I love the feeling of a fresh start that the new year brings. I’m also looking forward to using my 2013 Erin Condren planner!
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the direction I want to take this blog next year. I’ve been jotting some ideas down and am looking forward putting them into action.
I’m going to take a break from the blog for the next week or so. I want to soak up all things Christmas, all things family and start working on some organizing and cleaning for the new year.
Of course, I couldn’t leave you without a picture of my sweet girl this week.
Happy Friday Friends!
