A few weeks ago, I asked you all for help when it came to organizing the blogs I follow.
Thanks to many of your helpful comments, I’ve found something that works.
You are going to be using Google Reader. The reason I stuck with this one is because I use the GReader app on my Ipad and phone. I wasn’t crazy about the idea of having to redo anything to use BlogLovin. My issue (before) with Google Reader was that I couldn’t comment on blogs without opening up each page. What I’m about to show you will solve that problem.
Login to your Blogger account.
Open Google Reader
Open Reader Settings
You’ll find it in the wheel looking icon.
In settings, find the Goodies tab and click on it.
Read the section that says “Put Reader in a bookmark”.
Follow the instructions.
Once the NEXT tab is in your bookmarks bar go back to Google Reader.
Open the first blog you see. Make sure you go directly to the webpage.
Once you’re read the post, just click the next button.
It will take you to the next post waiting for you.
It’s made things so much easier. Hopefully some of you have noticed that I’ve been commenting more. I love this. I went through all of my Monday blog posts in about 30 minutes.
One thing I did learn during this organization process is not to unsubscribe to blogs in Google Reader.
It won’t work. I spent an hour unsubscribing to blogs that we’re active and that I didn’t read anymore. When I opened Reader back up again, they were all there.
I was beyond frustrated.
The only way (I’ve successfully found) to unfollow blogs is to go directly to the page you want to unfollow. Make sure you’re logged in.
Click options under your name in the following widgit.
Click on site settings.
Click stop following this site.
If you have any questions, please let me know. If there is something that works for you, please share.
Hopefully this helps some of you organize your blogs!0 Did you like this post?
