Welcome to the last week of the One Year and Beyond Series. I’ve enjoyed writing posts focused on parenthood over the past eight weeks as well as reading what everyone else has written. Thank you to those of you who have followed along, commented and linked up.
The last topic today is about toddler outings. For me, it is important to get out every day with AG. Before L was born, this consisted of the gym, playdates and much more. Now that he’s here, our outings pretty much consist of a walk in the early evening or a trip to Target. I still haven’t been cleared for heavy lifting and our BOB is pretty heavy to get in and out of the car so it limited the trips I can take. Target has the really big carts AG can sit on and I can fit the carseat in the cart. She won’t sit (without throwing a massive fit) in the front of the carts where you put your legs through, so that limits things. Anyhow, we still get out each day. She needs it and I need it. Today, I’m going to share some of our favorite outings over the past year. I definitely look forward to getting back to these places in the upcoming year but am definitely a little nervous to take these trips with two kids!
FAVORITE TODDLER OUTINGS
2. Children’s Museum
If you’re fortunate enough to have a children’s museum in your area, it’s the perfect place for toddlers. We have one here in FL and had one in TX too. They have so many activities that are geared towards younger children. It’s not only a great way to get out of the house but a wonderful learning experience as well.
Gets you and the littles some fresh air and allows them to burn that energy off! Bring a lunch for a picnic and then enjoy your naps afterward!
Not only do our littles need interaction with other littles, but us mamas need some adult time. Playdates are the best of both worlds. In TX my moms group would host weekly coffee playdates. We would take turns hosting and the host would have coffee and snacks for the moms and kids. I looked forward to these mornings every week!
5. Music Classes/ Library Time
As soon as we moved to TX, I looked up the local library and signed up for library time. AG loved library time each week. We made some great friends there and learned a lot of fun song we still sing at home. As soon as Luke is a little older, we will be going to our new local library for their toddler time.

In the difficulty of motherhood, it’s so important to find other mamas to relate to. Toddlers can be a handful and leave you wondering what to do next. This series is here to help you navigate through toddlerhood while being able to relate to other mamas going through the same thing. We may not always know what we are doing but we give it our best shot anyway. Come back each week to check out our new topic and read along with the other hosts of our One Year and Beyond series!
