Something I wanted to focus on more this year was goal setting. Like I mentioned in my January goal post, last year was a bit chaotic and I didn’t focus on monthly goals. This year, it’s been nice to have them back in my life. I’m much more productive and intentional with my goals written out.
In January, I shared my goals but didn’t get a chance to revisit them. In February, I had two goals, this blog and the shop website. Both took all month to accomplish and more hours of work than ever expected. The month ended with everything moved from Blogger to WordPress and the shop is up and running. Labor of love for sure, I’m so happy that they are finished. Now that March is here, I’m ready for warmer weather and will continue to tackle 2015.
You’ll find a short recap of my January goals a little further down the page.
Right now, lets focus on March.
This weekend, hubs said “I can’t believe it’s already March” at least 10 times. I agree with him, this year is already flying by. Our calendar is pretty packed this month. Hubs is off to Vegas for a few days mid month (when are the Bachelor parties going to stop?!?) We have a few birthday parties and my SIL is getting married, which means packing up the kids and heading to Miami for all the festivities. Oh and I’m planning our first annual Easter EGG HUNT for the end of the month. Since things are already packed, my motto for the month is KEEP IT SIMPLE. This goes for meals, projects and my goals.
Money, Money, Money. Hubs and I set a budget and went over all of our finances at the beginning of the year. To be honest, we haven’t looked at things since. We both want to start planning for big projects around the house (fence, fire pit, built ins and custom closets.) We need to cut the needless spending here and there (Target for me, Amazon Prime for him) and start setting specific funds aside for those big projects. We started using Quicken at the beginning of the year to track everything, so hopefully it won’t take much to get back on track.
Hire help. This past month, was one of the busiest months I’ve had with work. I’ve been blessed with (and overwhelmed by) lots of orders coming in. It’s been really hard juggling having two littles, my usual mom/wife/house duties and working 5-6 hours a day. After a breakdown, I can’t do it all moment, hubs suggested bringing in more consistent help. I do have a mommy’s helper for about 2-3 hours a week right now, but she only has AG. I want someone a tad older who can come in and take two kids for most of the time so I can really buckle down and work. We’re going to go with a college student and I am praying I can let go of L for a few hours in order to focus on work. AG has never been left alone with anyone other than family, but she’s older and I know she’ll be fine. L will be fine too, it’s me that is going to have a hard time not running in when I hear him fussing or needy. I know I need this time for my sanity, I pray it all works out.
House. Almost every room in our house is almost finished. I can’t say there is one room that is completely done. My goal this month is to put those finishing touches on the rooms in order to check them off of the to do list. Most of the items are things I can do on my own, like hanging things here and there. Some are “hubby do” tasks like hanging some bigger items. I can’t wait to share our home on the blog once things are finished.
What are your goals this month?
What do you hope to accomplish?
