Friday is finally here and you know what that means, time to share some favorites from our week. I’m not going to lie, this week was a rough one. We’re in a new season right now and trying to find our way. Change can be hard for the littles, which in turn can make it hard for us mamas. I’m hoping that after this adjustment period is over, things will get back to smooth sailing around here. And if and when that happens, hopefully it will last a few more weeks before we’re thrown for a loop again!
Lets take a look at life this past week.
one. My new office chair arrived. It’s from Pottery Barn Teen and I’m in love with it. I looked for chairs for months. I wanted something that would last for a long time and would lighten up the room. Since the furniture is dark, I went with grey and love how it works together. I also picked up the new Whitney English Desk Pad from Blue Sky at Target this week along with a monthly planner. I couldn’t pass up the price and it matches my office decor.
two. This girl right here is the one who threw us for a loop this week. At a less than three weeks until she turns three, she gave up naps. She has not napped all week and it’s been rough. The first few days, she yelled from her bed “IT’S NOT NIGHT TIME.” She did this over and over and over. Her brother started to stir, so I gave in. One awake is one thing but two missing a nap is a whole different ball game. That is how the first two days went. The next two, she refused to go in her room. Since she can climb up and down off her bed and open the doors, we can’t really keep her in there. And honestly, if she’s not going to nap, I’d rather give her something to do for a few hours instead of listen to her yell for me or chance her waking Luke. So, for a few minutes, she’ll sit in my office and play on her iPad. Then we’ll head downstairs to keep her busy until L wakes up. Having her up is a breeze, I enjoy the one on one time with her. The hard part is that I’m losing working time. I would work through naps and was able to get a good amount of work for the day finished. It will be an adjustment figuring out how to work this new schedule, but we’ll figure it out. Now I’m off to Pinterest to get some ideas on quiet boxes!
three. It’s been raining a lot this week and I LOVE it. One of the things I missed most during our year in Texas was the afternoon storms. This week, I let AG go out and play in the light rain while L finished up his nap. It was her first time jumping in the puddles and while she was a bit hesitant at first, she got the hang of it. She would have stayed out there for the rest of the afternoon if I would have let her.
four. If you’ve been a follower for a while now, you know how much I love all things fall. The littles and I ran to Jo Ann Fabrics this week to grab a spool of thread and I noticed they had all of their fall and Halloween stuff out. As much as I love the holiday and that time of year, it’s a little early. Can we at least get through July and maybe half of August before fall consumes all the aisles at the stores?!?
five. Last night, I posted the third Christmas in July sale. This one you don’t want to pass up. All of our monogrammed hats are just $18 SHIPPED! This is the lowest the hats will go this year. I’ll also be offering sample sales this weekend over in the new Simply Made with Love FB group. If you’re looking for a great deal on back to school shirts, make sure to join today!
six. Tomorrow, if you need me, I’ll be lounging by this pool with an adult beverage in hand. My self and two girlfriends are heading out of town for a night. I’m looking forward to enjoying some girl time, relaxing and sleeping through the night for the first time in 9.5 months! Don’t worry about the littles. AG is headed to nana and papa’s for a few days at their request. And L and Daddy will have a some good father/ son bonding time.
Happy almost weekend friends!0 Did you like this post?
