Friday Rewind

There is usually about one week a month where everything is off. Most things that can go wrong, do. L has more rough nights of sleep than good. AG is extra clingy or defiant. I end up with two screaming kids and no one is happy. Not much gets done on the to do lists and I'm hoping just to keep my head above water. This week was one of those weeks. Around this time last year I shared a post on 8 family traditions to celebrate the start of a new school year. AG was supposed to start MDO last year but we found out we were moving short after I published that post. As soon as we got back to FL, I put her on the waitlist for a preschool in our area I wanted her to go to. Unfortunately, there weren't any spots that opened up last year. Missing my teaching days

When I woke up on Monday morning, I saw tons of posts on Facebook from my teacher friends starting a new year. There was a part of me that was a bit envious of them. There are many days I miss teaching. I miss having a class full of students of my own. I miss lesson planning, grading papers and working closely with a group  of women. I miss picking out my work clothes, getting dressed for the day and stopping for coffee on the way to work. I used to look forward to field day, class field trips and so much more. Back to School in Style

Next week, AG starts preschool three mornings a week. I've been busy making sure she has everything she needs to get the school year off to a smooth start. School supplies have been purchased. Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Meatloaf is a great family recipe. It only takes a few minutes to prep. While there is a longer cooking time, it's hands off time. Add some veggies and you're good to go. The mini usually will eat meatloaf without an issue.  The reason I picked this recipe was because of one ingredient, onion soup mix.  I was cleaning out the pantry and noticed I had a leftover pack in the pantry, so I went in search of a recipe that called for it. To my daughter on your third birthday

Miss AG. My sweet girl, you are three years old today. THREE! I'm not sure how it's already been three years since you made your entrance into this world. Three whole years! Treat Yourself

Summertime for me means long days spent at the park or pool and nights relaxing on the patio while the littles play outside. All that summer fun also brings bathing suits, tanks and shorts. It's important for me to comfortably fit into all three of those, but I am also a girl who has a major sweet tooth. {4 ingredient} Ice Cream Cake

Growing up, homemade ice cream cake was a birthday tradition in our house. It was something everyone in my family looked forward to when their special day rolled around. Of course, the birthday guest of honor would get to pick out the flavor of ice cream used for the cake and would always get the first piece.
