There is usually about one week a month where everything is off. Most things that can go wrong, do. L has more rough nights of sleep than good. AG is extra clingy or defiant. I end up with two screaming kids and no one is happy. Not much gets done on the to do lists and I’m hoping just to keep my head above water.
This week was one of those weeks.
AG started school and I wasn’t prepared one bit. I ended up embroidering her lunch box and making her first day of school sign at 5am the day she started.
This sweet boy just doesn’t know how to fall asleep on his own anymore. We had made great strides with him in the sleep department in the last two months, but lately we’re back at square one. He got sick from AG’s birthday party and popped two teeth in the same week. So I nursed more than usual and he got attached again. Now, he won’t fall asleep on his own. We’ve tried everything the interwebs suggest. We’re not believers in CIO but we’ve even tried that. Nothing has worked and we’re exhausted. Last night hubs and I got 5 hours of sleep before we were up at 5 to start our days. Something has to give and soon.
While this week has been tough, it’s also been wonderful. AG has done fabulous at school. She loves it, gets into the car beaming afterwards and gets excited to go in the morning. I’m so proud of her. I’ve loved the quiet time during L’s nap while she’s at school and the one on one time I have with him.
In other news, September will be here next week. You have NO IDEA how excited that makes me. If you’ve been a reader for a while you know how much I love all things pumpkin. I cannot wait to decorate (well, maybe I’ve already started,) bake and celebrate my favorite time of the year.
This past week Dunkin Donuts started selling their pumpkin coffee. I actually like their pumpkin coffee better than the PSL from Starbucks. The day I found out it was out, I had hubs swing by after the gym and grab some. It was perfection. Everything I love about fall in one sip. I’ve been back twice since that first cup. It doesn’t help that there is a DD on the way home from the gym for hubs and on the way to AG’s preschool. Oh, and I may have had a few pumpkin munchkins too. They were worth every single calorie.
I think it was also around this time last year that the PSL was secretly released. I’m anxious to try it this year because of the recipe change. They’re using real pumpkin this year instead of a few other ingredients. You can read more about the change here. I hope it’s just as good as usual. There is also a SB on the way home from AG’s preschool so that doesn’t help either…
I mentioned that I may have started a little fall decorating. My mom and I went to Hobby Lobby last weekend and stocked up on fall and winter decor. I tried to get pieces that went with our current decor and could easily blend in without screaming PUMPKINS EVERYWHERE. Here is one of the items I picked up.
This weekend we’ll be keeping an eye on the weather and making sure we’re stocked up on hurricane supplies. Tampa is in the center of the cone, I’m praying she turns this weekend.
Here’s to hoping our weekend involves some sleep, not too much rain and a little relaxation.1 Likes
