Less than one week until Christmas, can you believe it? I excited just thinking about how much fun Christmas morning will be this year. This Christmas has definitely been the most magical with AG. Three is such a fun age. We’ve been singing/ learning Christmas carols, looking at lights every night, ooohing and aweing over the decor at all the stores, reading Christmas books (Flip and Flop is our favorite) and so much more. The best way to see the magic that Christmas brings is to look at it through the eyes of a child.
Me on the other hand, I’m just about ready. Presents are wrapped. Cookies have been baked. House is in the process of being cleaned. There is still a good number of things on my to do list but nothing that won’t be done before the big days. Hubs is off all week, we have date nights planned, my mom and I have baking days and I’m celebrating Christmas with my girlfriends next week. The best part of all of that is hubs being off for the week. This is the first Christmas since we’ve been together that he doesn’t have to work on Christmas Eve or the day after. His new job has been such a blessing. And this year, my in-laws are coming for Christmas for the first time!
Since I’ll be soaking up all things Christmas and family next week, I’ll be light on the blogging. What I will be sharing is a new cookie recipe everyday. I’ve been baking a lot this week and have some tasty recipes to share. Make sure to check them out!
Now, onto some favorites from the week…..
We had a liiittle bit of cooler weather this past week which meant I got to wear slippers and long sleeves. It was glorious! Unfortunately, things will be back in the 80’s by Christmas.
AG brought home her first school gift this week. They made snowman handprint ornaments. She was so excited to give it to me, she even old me who each snowman was!
While my focus has been mostly on Christmas, I am doing some 2016 planning on this time off from work. This year I bought Lara Casey’s PowerSheets and am almost through the first part. I have a lot of plans for next year and things I’d like to get set in place before the new year hits. I’ve also been cleaning out our house. This week I did every cabinet and drawer in the kitchen. I have a huge pile of things for GoodWill and love that everything is now organized. Now, I just have the rest of the house to go….
I mentioned cookie recipes coming next week….here is a sneak at some of the recipes coming your way. This was just half of what I baked this week. My personal favorite were the cornflake mini M&M cookies!
The one thing I HAVE to do this weekend is plan our Christmas Day menu. We go to my parents for Christmas Eve every year. They’ve hosted an open house for the past 20 years with their neighbors and friends. We usually stay there until 8 or so and head home. Then, everyone comes to our house for Christmas. This year we’ll have a bigger group and I have no idea what I’m making. I’ve been pinning recipes here and there. If you’re in need of some, check out my Pinterest board.
Happy last weekend before Christmas friends, I hope yours is filled with all things Christmas and all things that make your heart full!1 Likes
