Before moving to Florida, I lived in Connecticut. New England was where all of our family lived (and pretty much still does.) If you grow up in the New England area, chances are you’re a Red Sox fan. That was definitely the case for my family. I’m pretty sure my brother came home from the hospital in a Red Sox onesie and most of the sports gear and attire growing up was proudly red, white and blue.
Growing up, I was never a girly girl. I always loved sports, mainly football and baseball. I understood the game and enjoyed cheering on my team. When we moved to Florida, we were still Red Sox fans…until my dad and brother started to change teams. I was definitely disappointed when they moved their support to the Tampa Bay Rays a few years after moving.
Not me though, I was and will continue to be a Red Sox fan. When I started teaching, my classroom theme was sports and I had tons of Red Sox decor in the room. One of my students bought this santa hat for me, of course it became one of my favorite gifts.
When we found out Luke was going to be a boy, I knew I wanted to do a baseball themed nursery. The dilemma came when it was time to pick out the decor. Of course, I wanted red, white and blue for the Red Sox. Hubs wanted blue, light blue and white for the Rays. We compromised and Luke’s room is Navy blue and white with touches of red thrown in. He even had newborn pictures taken in a baseball outfit. This picture is framed in his room.
I also made these letters to hang on the wall behind his crib. I used a marker to draw the baseball laces on them. They also made a great prop for his 6 month pictures!
I wasn’t on it this year when it came to opening day attire for my littles. Hubs and I celebrated 6 years this weekend which pushed my to do/ to blog list to the side for some much needed family fun time. So today, I’m sharing my favorite picture of the littles from last year in their baseball shirts. I decided to do Red Sox colors for AG and Rays colors for Luke. You can also see Luke’s anywhere chair is also perfect for his baseball room!
What team are you cheering for today?

So cute! I guess it’s good I don’t have a sports affiliation, so I happily dress Noah in all of chris’ favorite teams. But Chris comes from a family who cheer for different baseball teams… Mets, Yankees, and cardinals.
Cutest little fans ever!! And I love the baseball stitches on the letters for Luke’s name!

I love those baseball shirts! So cute! And, if I ever have a boy, I’ve always wanted to do a baseball theme as well. No idea what colors we’d end up with though. I’m a Yankees fan and hubby is a Phillies fan! The woes of a split team household, haha.

I didn’t know you were from New England.. I would have put money on you being from FL. I learn something new every day when reading my favorite blogs.
