We’re almost half way through January. Can you believe it? I talked last week about how I was still trying to get used to new routines and things set in place for the year. It’s the same story this week. I’ve been successfully using my planner and getting things accomplished. I’ve tried out some new apps that were recommended to me and I’m loving them so far. I’ve done some meal planning, have a book to start and my decluttering project is under way. While I don’t have a ton to show for what I’ve accomplished, the wheels are moving. I feel pretty good about how the year has started off. Hopefully it’s an indication of the year ahead.
Since it’s Friday, it’s time to highlight some of my favorite things from the week.
I haven’t used the crock pot once this winter. I think that is a record for me. I used to use it once a week, especially during these cooler months. So, a goal of mine this month is to get it back out and plan some meals. The first one on my list is this pork recipe. It’s my second most popular on my SMWL website. It’s a no fail, easy dish that is delicious! If you’re looking for a crock pot recipe to add to your rotation, check it out!
Do you have any must make crock pot recipes?
A few months back one of my best friends recommended this book to me after reading it with her bible study group. I added it to my list to read and haven’t thought about it since. I’ve been slowly going through my list, not much time to read over the past few months. The this week, another friend at work brought the book and shared it with me. With two friends recommending it, and now having it in my hands, it’s time to read. I’m looking forward setting aside some time this weekend to dive in.
I’ve been trying to drink more water lately. I realized I’m good when I’m home, but not so great at work. I’ve made sure to have water bottles under my desk each week and have been loving the insulated water bottles. Perfect for this bipolar Florida weather!
Another goal this year is to simplify and find methods of doing things that brings less clutter and chaos. I’ve been trying out a few apps that I have high hopes for. I’ll make sure to share if they work. One thing I got for Christmas was a new wallet. It’s this one in kelly green. My current wallet was big and I could shove lots of stuff in it. I was always losing cards and saving things I should have thrown out just because I had the space. With this wallet, it’s simple. A place for cards. A small place for money and that’s about it. I’ve been placing my receipts in the center and then going through them each day. The ones I need to save get filed and the others are in the trash. Mission accomplished.
I’m all about bright and cheery this year. This phone case fits the bill.
To match my new wallet, I picked out a new phone case for the year. I have used the Sonix cases for years now. They are the best quality, holding up through many toddler mishaps. It didn’t hurt that I had a gift card to Nordstrom to use on it!
That’s about it for today! I’m taking little miss to see SING this weekend and cannot wait. It’s her first movie with me and I think she’ll LOVE the movie! Enjoy your weekend!2
