Since the official start of winter, I believe Florida has had three or four really cold days. And by really cold, I mean temperatures in the 40’s. This past month has been absolutely gorgeous, with what feel like fall weather. High 60’s in the morning making its way up to the mid 70’s in the afternoons. The kids have been playing outside everyday after school, we’ve all been soaking it up.
This weekend, we’re finally getting a REAL cold front. I mean temperatures in the 30’s! It will only last a day or two, which is enough for me. I’ll be able to wear my Uggs, enjoy a nice fire with hot chocolate and do lots of snuggling with my littles.
In honor of the cold front, I’ve decided to share some of my favorite cold weather items with you. These are the things that come out as soon as I know a cold front is on its way.
One- The Blardigan.
I have two of these. One long one and a short one (which is what I linked to.) I am OBSESSED. I keep the short one at work and wear it pretty much everyday, since my classroom is cold. My long one stays at home, worn all the time. The littles even love to wrap up in it and snuggle. These are pricy but so worth it. My rule is always cost per use. I’ve had my long one now since before L was born and it’s looks as good as new. If you want to wait to get it, keep an eye for the bug Nordstrom Sales, I want to say I bought mine for about $70 around sale time.
Two- Tea Obsessed.
I have an entire post dedicated to my new found love for loose leaf tea but wanted to share one must have with you today. My neighbors introduced me to loose leaf tea a few months ago. Now, I have a cup every single night before bed. I’ve even got my mom obsessed to the point of when she comes to babysit each week, she usually have a new tea for me to try! The first thing I needed (besides the tea) was a brewing system. My neighbors gave me this one and it takes less than 10 minutes to have a fresh, hot cup of tea. You can purchase loose leaf tea at Teavana.
Three- Warm & Cozy Slippers
My house has tile floors, I have to have slippers on when the weather gets cold. I have a knock off Ugg pair from Target, but this adorable pair is on sale right now for a GREAT price. They’d last long enough to make that worth it.
I’ve had two pairs of these leggings for over three years now. They fit as good today as they did the first day I bought them. That’s also with being pregnant, post-partum body fun and being back at my fighting weight. I can’t recommend them enough and they’re also on sale! This is a purchase you can’t pass on!
Five- Comfort Food.
Comfort food and cold weather go perfectly together. My most popular post on my recipe blog is this Crock pot potato soup recipe, every single year. Once you make it, it will definitely be one of those recipes you’ll come back to year after year.
Happy weekend, friends! Enjoy it!3
