This week is teacher appreciation week at school. Usually it’s later in the year, but since we’ll be in the testing world for the last few months of school- it’s now. For little man’s class, I volunteered to do the “letter day.” It was the first day where students wrote words of appreciation for the teachers. Since littles say the darnedest things, I thought a little survey turned into a book, would be something the teachers would treasure. I created the printable and make sure to use questions that the three and four year olds could answer.
I printed out two sheets for each of the students. Now, there are so many perks to teaching at the same school my littles go to. Instead of sending these home with the kids and hoping the parents send them back, I decided to get my 5th graders involved. I brought my class to my son’s class and let the them fill out the forms for the kids. I made sure they knew to write down exactly what the kids said, because that’s the fun of it all. Especially coming from three and four year olds.
My students had a ball with the little ones. The things they said were adorable, the common theme was the love of the HUGS they receive from their teachers.
After I had all of the papers, I made them into a book. I designed a cover that matched the papers and printed it on card stock.
From there, all it took was a some hole punching and a little bit of twine. LM presented it to his teachers on Monday morning and I think they loved it. Honestly, there isn’t enough to do for these teachers to show how much they’re appreciated. He has been beyond blessed with the sweetest, most loving teachers this year. He is learning so much and loves school.1 Likes
